French networking giant Alcatel-Lucent claims that it's newly introduced VDSL2 Vectoring technology can help expedite broadband services over copper networks.
According to Alcatel-Lucent's claims, the company's new VDSL2 Vectoring equipment is capable of accelerating broadband speeds to 100 megabits per second and higher over copper networks.
It may be noted here that broadband speeds of 100Mbps and higher are at present only possible with the use of a fibre-based network.
The France-based networking giant says communications services providers can make the best use of their existing copper infrastructures to deliver improved broadband services and reach more customers.
Speaking on the topic, Alcatel-Lucent's Dave Geary says, "With our enhanced broadband portfolio, including VDSL2 Vectoring and recent innovations in next-generation fibre, operators can deliver new services and generate new revenue, quickly."
Geary adds that their aim is to help operators by making it easier for them to meet ambitious national broadband goals, at a time when more than 1.25 billion of households in the world are presently connected to copper lines.
