It has been reported that Johnson & Johnson has recalled 200,000 syringes of Eprex. The drug has been recalled as the drug manufacturers had doubt over the potency of the dosage. However, no side effects of the drug have been reported till now.
The drug, Eprex, is used for anemia patients. As per reports, the recall has taken place in 17 countries. However, no recall has been made in the US. Following the recall of the drug, there are only 6,300 syringes of Eprex left in the market.
It has been informed by the spokesperson of Johnson & Johnson that the drugs had the over dose of chemicals and in some drugs byproducts were used. Even if these drugs are consumed by a patient, it may not show any adverse impact. However, the company decided to voluntarily recall the drugs from the market for safety sake.
Following the recall of the drugs, the share of the company fell down drastically. In the last two years, the company has recalled many of its products. The products which have been recalled by the company included from contact lenses, hip implants and faulty blood glucose test strips.
