Cancer deaths have increased to such an extent that there have hundreds of fundraisers are inspired to contribute to fight the peril on offer. Among so many of them, Loyola University of Maryland in Baltimore is one that is renowned worldwide and contributes the largest per capita revenues towards cancer patients.
The fundraising event held by this fundraiser is named `Relay for Life', and it basically belongs to the American Cancer Society. It occurs mainly in Maryland.
For 2011, the `Relay for Life' of Wicomico County will take place at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on Friday. In case of drizzle, the Crown Sports Center in Fruitland will be hosting the event.
Next news about the event is that it is for the first time it will take place without efforts of Chris Palmer. Palmer was the person behind the event `Relay to Salisbury'. He was suffering from cancer since last 19 years, and died on September 3.
Besides Relay, Palmer also contributed in holding fundraiser events "Romance for a Cure" and "Beat the Beast". With help of these, he succeeded in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars, which he further donated to several local cancer charities.
