US consumers prefer 3D TV over 2D or HD TV technology, a new study conducted by research firm Frank N Magid Associates revealed.
Conducted on behalf of Panasonic, during the recent Disney D23 Expo, the study found around three quarters of the US consumers saying that 3D TV technology was dramatically better than 2D TV.
Out of more than 500 respondents, 71 per cent said they preferred 3D TV over 2D or HD TV technology. Twenty-seven per cent said their 3D experience was 'fabulous,' while additional 50 per cent admitted that they wished to own a 3D TV.
Panasonic’s Chief Technology Officer Eisuke Tsuyuzaki said that the results supported their belief that people would always favor 3DTV once they have seen it.
Speaking on the topic, Eisuke Tsuyuzaki said, “We've always said that, just as with HDTV, once consumers experience 3D TV they will want it. This survey proves it. We couldn't be happier with the results.”
Japanese electronics giant Panasonic is currently exclusively focused on Active Shutter 3D technology.
