A 26-year-old man charged with assaulting a judge was presented in the court for hearing.
Muhammad Tanvir has been accused of assaulting district court judge Jackie Moran when he was present in the court for his hearing in July under the Mental Health Act.
During his recent hearing, Judge Raoul Neave asked for Tanvir's remand at Hillmorton Hospital on bail.
Meanwhile, he has been creating nuisance at the Hillmorton Hospital and Judge Neave has notified that the behavior of the accused is an intentional act of showing his mental disabilities.
The judge stated that though Tanvir has been receiving care due to court's decision, it may be the case that he is trying to prove it intentionally that he needed extra care in order to move out from the charges and to avoid punishment.
"No doubt it is with the view of keeping him where he is at the moment, which is likely to be what he wants all along".
Judge Neave stated that according to the psychiatric report "Tanvir was fit to plead and the defence of insanity did not apply". This has resulted into more questions being raised, the judge said.
