While if it was to be believed that high blood pressure could trigger the risk of heart stroke, then the warning has escalated to another level as it's being claimed recently that the risk has notched up to dying now.
It has been confirmed that men having high blood pressure are almost 40% more likely to lose the battle to survive while the risk for women for the same is at 24%.
For the study, a team of researchers led by Dr. Van Hemelrijck examined the medical records of 289,454 men and 288,345 women. After 12 years, it was found that 22,184 of the men and 14,744 of the women had cancer while 8,724 men and 4,525 women died due to cancer.
It has been told that person having blood pressure beyond the normal could shoot the risk of even cancer by as much as 10 to 20%.
Having said that it has been told that the absolute risk involved is yet to be ascertained, though there exists a correlation between blood pressure and cancer
Earlier studies have indicated that high blood pressure could escalate the risk of cancer in women more than men, but this study has certainly shown a totally different angle.
