Samsung Nexus Prime may be unveiled on Oct. 11

Samsung Nexus Prime may be unveiled on Oct. 11 Internet search giant Google and smartphone maker Samsung have announced that they would introduce a major new Android-based product on 11th of October in San Diego, triggering speculations that the event will be used to unveil the Samsung Nexus Prime.

The heavily rumored Samsung Nexus Prime smartphone will reportedly run the newest version of Android OS, viz. Ice Cream Sandwich.

The potential Nexus Prime is widely expected to come equipped with a large 4.5-inch touch-screen, Samsung's 1.5GHz Exynos dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel photo snapper, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a hefty
2,000mAh battery and 4G capabilities.

The Nexus Prime is expected to resemble the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone but with a curved screen like the Nexus S.

Rumors also suggest that the two tech giants will also use the event to unveil a new tablet, or at least an update for Samsung’s existing tablets.

Google is coming up with new hardware and software products, despite ongoing patent fights with rivals.

A spokesperson for Google said, “Microsoft is resorting to legal measures to extort profit from others’ achievements and hinder the pace of innovation. We remain focused on building new technology and supporting Android partners.”

The San Diego event has been scheduled for just a week after Apple’s planned launch of the next iPhone in California.
