According to eBay UK, with Apple likely to release its latest iPhone iteration - the iPhone 5 - on October 4, there will apparently be a 70 percent increase in the sales of the earlier iPhone models after the iPhone 5's forthcoming launch.
Drawing attention to the trend that the company witnessed last year, eBay said that the launch of the iPhone 4 had led to a surge in earlier iPhone models, with customers all to willing to go hunting for a smartphone bargain - in an attempt to buy an older iPhone model at a discounted cost.
Going by the precedence lat year, eBay UK is seemingly readying its coffers for a flood of the older models of the iPhone --- more so as it is hopeful that the low-price accessibility of earlier iPhone models will entice the buyers to fancy their chances of buying the Apple handset.
As per eBay's projections, the launch of iPhone 5 will result in an overall surge in the sales of smartphones --- and, since the sales of the iPhone 3G surpassed those of the iPhone 4 last year, it is quite evident that it is `great deals' that entice the shoppers more than the desire to purchase the latest smartphone models!
Noting that even though iPhone 5 will be a more advanced handset than iPhone 4, eBay UK's retail director Angus McCarey said: "Our figures show that savvy shoppers are ready and waiting to get their hands on the iPhone 4 at a cut-down price."
