Dozing Off More Common In YoungstersVarious studies have brought to the open that youngsters between the ages of 20 to 30 are more prone to doze off during daytime in spite of sleeping for eight hours in the night than older adults who are more than 65 years old and that the sleeping time of people actually declined with age.

This research has proved that youngsters spend about eight hours sleeping at night on an average and still they are more likely to find themselves dozing off during the hours of the day. Another interesting pattern that was discovered was that older people who actually spend only about six-and-a-half hours per night on an average, which is about 43 minutes lesser than the average sleeping hours of the youngsters, were more alert during the day.

The most restful phase of sleep is said to the slow wave sleep and older people spent very less time in the phase and they also woke a lot more during the night. Yet, these healthy and older adults showed very less tendency to actually find their eyes closing in the day.
