It has been revealed in a recent incident that a woman died after 12 days of her gastric band surgery. The name of the woman was Catherine Violet Donaghy and he was 61 years of age. She as well as her daughter Oria O Brien had undergone surgery at a clinic in Birmingham.

However, the surgery went bad, and she succumbed to the condition. It was reported that this was due to blood poisoning that took place in her body due to the complications with the gastric band. This happened after she contracted a stomach infection, and never recovered after it.

She was someone who was morbidly obese, and had been dealing with weight issues since the last 35 years of her life. Finally she had thought this gastric bad fitting would be an ideal way for her to get rid of her loathsome pounds so that she could look good and feel better.

It was found that this was due to the stomach infection that had caused her stomach to distend and finally result in blood poisoning.

There are all sorts of risks involved in gastric band surgeries and, it is essential that they are fitted well and all the needed precautions are taken, otherwise things can go as bad as in this case.
