If you are addicted of taking aspirin on daily basis then it is high time for you to get alert as it has been reported that the longer use of Aspirin could impair one's vision. A study conducted by European researchers has found that people with age-related macular degeneration should not be prescribed with Aspirin.
For the study, the researchers observed the data collected from 4,700 aged people. The findings of the study have been published in the journal Ophthalmology. It has been informed by the researches that a large number of populations taking aspirin are suffering from macular degeneration.
Macular degeneration is a vision loss which normally occurs to the older people. A person suffering from macular degeneration often complaints of wet eyes which leads to blindness. A patient is prescribed aspirin so that the chances of heart attack could be avoided.
The researchers are recommending that the use of aspirin by the elders should be avoided. Besides, it will be beneficial for them to get their eye sight checked timely. Previously, there have been many studies which have shown that the longer use of aspirin could be hazardous for people irrespective of their age.
