Ireland has been found to be badly hit with the disease of diabetes, reveals a recent survey. The figures of the study state that the condition prevailing in the nation is at its higher end; with every third family having at least one diabetes patient.
Diabetes has victimized people of almost all the communities and region of the nation, be it rural or urban. As per the figures of the study, around 77% of the population knows or is related to a person suffering from diabetes.
The figures of the research have been formed after observing 700 people. The research has been carried out by Behaviour and Attitudes a marketing company for the Diabetes Federation of Ireland and Sanofi a healthcare organization.
The research has also been published in a journal along with the alterations in the HbA1C, a form of medical test for diabetes that will be effective from January 1 of the coming year. The medical test for diabetes campaign known as ‘Know Your Numbers!’ is being organized by HSE along with Irish Pharmacy Union.
The campaign aims to reduce the vulnerability to other health risks by reducing the diabetes level in the body. As per the figures of the research, there are 1,80,000 people in Ireland suffering from Type 1 and type 2 form of diabetes.
