Surprise Audit Reveals Substandard Care at Motueka Resthome

District-Health-BoardAccording to reported information, it has been claimed that the residents and families living in Woodlands Resthome recently rallied up at the District Health Board in order to meet health officials in Motueka.

Earlier last week, the meeting was held with the intent of hearing the conclusion of an inquisition into the care being provided at the resthome.

The probe, which was meant to analyze the standard of care services being offered at the said facility, closely followed a surveillance spot audit that transpired earlier in July. Spot audits are apparently an integrated customary fragment of the audit procedure, and has come after a complete audit held in September last year.

The report highlighted various areas of concerns, including identification of enhancements required at the site, what is development situation like since last two months and various other suggestions and recommendations needed for enhancing the services being offered at the resthome.

Revealing his opinion regarding the prevailing situation, Peter Burton, Service Director at NMDHB Community, said that health board is satisfied with the development made at Oceania resthome during last two months, though he admitted that there are still additional enhancement and advancements needed to ensure better services are offered at the resthome.

He reassured that suitable process and plans for care services are in place and from September 16, the resthome will open its doors for new admissions.
