Choosing Health Diet Is Costly Affair for Americans

Choosing Health Diet Is Costly Affair for AmericansMeal at a restaurant is just a feast, and not diet: this is what people of America feel. The world has become conscious about effects of having calorie laden food, but it is not easy to expect that people will use consciousness while ordering delicacy at restaurants.

When people move out to have food, they make it a point that it is tasty, even if it is not nutritious. Opting salads over fried and fatty food, has not been accepted by the people in the US, reveals a trapeze instructor in New York, Jonathan Ryfiak.

A recent survey, conducted by Technomic a food research organization, revealed that 47% of the population of the US accepts that they want low-calorie food to be prepared by the restaurants, but 23% of the population actually orders low-fat food.

The reason behind low rates of opting healthy food is the high prices of health food. Americans feel that spending on healthy food costs more than spending on unhealthy food items. Despite efforts made by Michelle Obama to encourage healthy food choices and the food chains listing calories of the food items, nothing is working at the moment.

According to Bittman, people should not demand food courts to come up with healthy choices; they should instead start cooking food a home on regular basis.
