With an intention to promote the use of its data services, Vodafone UK has launched a new all-you-can-eat data service that is available for free to anyone who enrolls/upgrades to a pay-monthly deal with one of the company’s range of smartphones.
The new service “Data Test Drive” will allows eligible customers to download unlimited number of apps and other content on their smartphones for free
The UK network provider said the service was all about assisting the customer in gaining confidence in the use of their smartphone by allowing them to explore all the existing apps and experiment with their handsets.
Announcing the Data Test Drive scheme, the company said, “We want customers to really play with their new handset and Data Test Drive will give them the confidence to find the apps they love and features they will use regularly.”
The service will run for three months. At the end of three months users will receive a text telling them how they have got on. After the 3 months, standard data charges will apply for the service.
Vodafone also declared that the Data Test Drive service applies only in the UK only, and doesn’t apply to SIM-only, mobile broadband & price plans, where data is excluded.
