A new Simulation Centre being developed for medical students will guide students with updated medical information. The new centre will also be a help to the medical practitioners who can update their knowledge.
With the introduction of the system, the doctors and the aspiring doctors can attain proficiency in their field. The service will be a great help to patients as the new doctors will be provided with a chance to try their skills, before they started practicing their profession.
The centre will provide the doctors with practical training of the process of practicing the profession. The students will be trained how to communicate when at work, performing as a team, practicing surgery and checking patients in the ward. The students will learn all these skills on the $500,000 high tech dummy.
The idea of establishing such a recreational centre came from the head of the School of Medicine Alan Merry. The entire project was outlined by a team from department of anesthesiology, who were experts in creating imitations of adult health education. The centre is expected to be unveiled by Health Minister Tony Ryall at the Auckland University.
