Simon McClure - an HIV sufferer who apparently passed on the potentially deadly AIDS virus to hundreds of women he had slept with - has been sentenced to a two-years-and-eight-months jail term!
Though McClure, 38, has been jailed for deliberately infecting an ex-lover with HIV, the fact that he had boasted of unprotected sex with hundreds of women has led the police to issue his picture, and ask women across the UK: "Have you slept with this man?"
McClure, from Middlesbrough, was aware of his `HIV positive' status after he married a prostitute in Thailand. A test in 2006 confirmed that he had the AIDS virus, and doctors had given him `clear advice' against unprotected sex --- an advice that the HIV brute paid no heed to!
It was in 2009 that McClure was arrested after one of his ex-partners shockingly discovered that she had contracted HIV while carrying McClure's baby. The women, who identity remains undisclosed, went into premature labour a day after McClure's arrest; and, fortunately, her baby survived and did not have HIV.
McClure, who is now newly-married and has returned from honeymoon in Cuba, had finally confessed grievous bodily harm after a court order gained access to his HIV test conducted in 2006.
About the police having issued McClure's picture and asking women if they had slept with him, a Cleveland Police Detective Inspector, Andy Greenwood, said: "The possibility exists that he has had relationships with other people that we are not aware of and we would urge them to contact us immediately"!
