Rotary Stadium saw almost 2,168 breast cancer survivors, their families, well wishers and other supporters, as they walked five kilometres in order to participate in the 20th annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run, which was held on 2nd of October.
Walk was organized to raise funds for the breast cancer foundation in which more than $295,000 were raised. October is said to be the breast cancer awareness month in which one can donate for the noble cause till the end of the month. Thinking that one more walk was organized at British Columbia for eighth consecutive year in which more than 22,000 people took part in it and raised about $3.67 million funds.
Canada also witnessed such walks as 59 different communities walked to raise funds and collected $30 million. All the funds are said to be used for the research purpose and for treatment. In research, an in- depth study would be done to find an answer about causes, its different types, prevention, and ways to treat the cancer.
Everybody is trying his best to raise awareness and funds in October; one novel thing was that judges were witnessed sporting pink robes, in order to celebrate the breast cancer awareness month.
