It has been reported that the Mid Western Regional Hospital nurses will be taking decision today on whether or not to continue the protest against the management. Earlier, the nurses have been in talk with management with concerns of working environment of the nurses in the hospital.
The management has been alleged of ignoring the suggestions made by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation and SIPTU of improving the working condition of the nurses and mid wives. The nurses had suggested the management to post extra nurse at the emergency departments of the hospitals so that extra burden from the shoulders of the nurses could be eliminated.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation and SIPTU have further made suggestions of reducing the number of the beds to be cared by the nurses so that work stress of the nurses could be reduced. Before putting the suggestion in front of the management the nurses were hopeful that there woes would be heard. But the management has turned deaf ear to the woes of the nurses. Therefore, the nurses are now planning to extend their agitation and protest so that required changes could be brought in the working environment of the nurses.
