Following an increase in the conflict between the US Government and New Zealand’s medical marijuana industry, the Federal Government has taken tough stance by ordering marijuana industry to wrap up their proceedings.
It has been informed that marijuana industries have been given 45 days for closing. The move of closing the marijuana industry resulted from Obama’s administration’s decision of abstaining from the marijuana industries.
Anguished over the move, as many as 16 states decided of taking the support of law to safeguard their rights. It has been informed that the Federal Government has issued legal notice to the 16 states where marijuana industries are located. The legal notice read, “Under United States law, a dispensary's operations involving sales and distribution of marijuana are illegal and subject to criminal prosecution and civil enforcement actions”.
It has further been warned that if marijuana industry fails to abide by the orders of the Federal Government, then they will be dragged to court on charges of breaching the law and criminal conduct. It has been informed that on Friday, a press conference will be held to announce closure of marijuana industry.
