As per latest information based on Listeria outbreak in the United States, it has been revealed that the Listeria outbreak in US, which was allied to infected cantaloupes, has expanded its presence to nearly 24 states, counting New York.
In this regard, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP) recently released a report, which claimed that nearly 21 people have been killed by the infection in the region so far.
It is one of the most devastating U. S. food borne disease outbursts since last 10 years, wherein more than 109 people had been invaded by the disease, and CDC has linked it to one miscarriage which took place recently.
Earlier, the agency confirmed that since October 3, various laboratory tests have verified that in excess of 100 people all over 20 states in the United States had been trapped by illness due to tainted melons, and nearly 18 died of it.
Oregon, New York, South Dakota and Lowa are among the states where newly confirmed cases of the illness have been reported. The agency said that all of these states have confirmed one case each.
The New York resident, who fell ill due to melons, is among those 21 cases of casualties across 11 states.
