Now, the report is out in open, mixed reactions are being seen from the medical fraternity. Though there are companies which would still recommend the PSA test like United Healthcare; there are others who would advice to talk to consultants first.
While the test has been approved by the FDA, recent reports have casted doubt on the authenticity of the test. Though nobody wants to put health of men under risk, the American Cancer Society would be closely seen to decide on the future.
Though the final call is yet to be taken on the same, doctors more or less would still go for the test as the best possible option.
There are no doubts that at times, the PSA results are inconclusive, but it doesn’t substantiate the claims that the PSA test plays a crucial part in the diagnostic process.
Apparently, Dr. Eric Klein, the Head of urology at the Cleveland Clinic, opines that the report is flawed and there is conclusive evidence which suggests that the PSA testing has considerable effect on reducing the mortality rate.
