Pre-order stock for iPhone 4S sold out at Apple’s online storePre-order stock for the newest version of the iPhone, the iPhone 4S, is already sold out at online Apple store.

Apple had started accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 4S on last Friday, with October 14 as the delivery date for those orders. But, the Cupertino-based popular gadget maker’s Web site now shows the delivery time as "In one or two weeks".

Mobile phone carrier AT&T said that the release of iPhone 4S was the most successful launch of any iPhone through a carrier. It claimed that received more than 200,000 pre-orders in just 12 hours after opening pre-order books for the device.

The launch of the iPhone 4S was a matter of disappointment for many analysts and consumers as they had eagerly been waiting for iPhone 5. But, the record presales figures for the device showed that it would sell well.

AT&T’s rival carriers Sprint and Verizon are also offering the iPhone 4S, but they haven’t disclosed presales figures so far.

The iPhone 4S, which was unveiled on Tuesday on the eve of legendary Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, comes in three storage options- 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. The new iPhone comes equipped with a faster A5 central processor unit, an 8-megapixel camera and voice recognition technology.
