People above 18-years of age are allowed to use tanning beds, as per the new laws imposed in California, the first state is US to ban the use of tanning beds for the children below 18 years-of-age.
The new law has been approved and signed by the Governor of California, Jerry Brown, and is due to be effective from January 1 of the coming year. According to the US Indoor Tanning Association, around 5% to 10% of the teenagers in the state accessed to tanning beds in the state, undoubtedly the law will hamper the business of many tanning bed parlors of the region.
According to the Governor James Brown, the ban is part of a law that has been formulated in order to protect the health of the youth of the region. As per the guidelines of the law, the use of tanning beds is banned for children below 14 years-of-age. Those teens who belong to the age group of 15 to 17 years can take the tanning sessions but with consent of their parents.
Apart from California, in Texas the age limit to use tanning beds is 16 years and above, whereas the other states of the nation are planning to ban the facility for minors.
