Measles Outbreak Taking a Toll in AucklandThe measles outbreak in Auckland is posing threat to many lives. It has been informed that since the year 1997, this year’s measles attack has been worse. The authorities are now looking forward towards effective supply of vaccines so that vulnerable lives could be saved from its grip.

With the pursuit of making people aware about the spread of measles, the authorities concerned have decided to introduce paid media form of advertisement together with vaccination campaigns. It is hoped by the government that through this step they will be able to control the menace of measles outbreak.

It has been decided that the Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS) will be playing the role of diagnosing healthcare professional and will be solely responsible for bringing awareness among the people regarding the measles diseases.

It has been advised that people should get them self immunized so that they don’t come in contact with measles. People who were born in 1969 and were not immunized by MMR are advised to get the jabs as soon as possible so that they could ward off the strains of measles scattered in the atmosphere. However, infants are required to be treated by non-MMR vaccine.

The measles is a deadlier disease. If caught, the changes of a patient to survive are quite less. A person with measles may show symptoms of fever, white spots on the skin and redness all over the body. However, in severe cases a patient might show symptoms of diarrhea and pneumonia.
