A person suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, most of the times face memory problems. As suspected by researchers, in Alzheimer affected people, few amyloid plaques get formed in their brain and these plaques further tend to rob their memory.
Roche Holding AG has recently experiment a new drug with which he claims to remove these plaques. However, the theory has not yet been proved.
According to Roche, there are many patients of Alzheimer who are already on the experimental medication of gantenerumab. The drug is basically a biotech drug that is especially designed to fasten amyloid plaques in the brain and then remove them together. It is given during the early stages of Alzheimer. Gantenerumab is expected to slug down the development of Alzheimer’s disease further. It is safe to use and under its influence patients are able to function properly.
Still, investigations have to be made for confirming that whether Roche’s formula of removing brain amyloid will result into clinical benefit for patients on Gantenerumab or not.
According to the company, when Roche drug was given to patients, it led to a dose-dependent reduction of brain amyloid in them. On the other hand, patients receiving some other drug were recorded with an increase amyloid load.
