As many as five new Android-based smartphones are scheduled to be launched on the AT&T network this week --- including the high-end Atrix 2 from Motorola Mobility; Captivate Glide and Doubletime from Samsung; Pantech Pocket from Pantech Curitel; and the budget AT&T Avail from ZTE Corp.
The key specifications of Motorola Mobility's Atrix 2 - which will run the Android's 2.3 version - include a 4.3-inch qHD screen; a 1Ghz Dual-Core processor; an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture; a front-facing camera; 1GB RAM; HSPA+ 21Mbps functionality; and optional Lapdock 100 connectivity.
Of the two new smartphones from Samsung, the Captivate Glide will also be powered by Android 2.3 version, and will feature a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen; a 1Ghz Dual-Core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor; slide-out QWERTY keyboard; an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video capture; and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
Meanwhile, the key features of the Samsung Doubletime will include 3.2-inch 320 x 480 screen; a 600Mhz processor; 3.2-megapixel camera; digital camera; and camcorder functionality.
Finally, the main features of the Pantech Pocket will include a 4-inch SVGA screen, 5-megapixel camera with flash and HD recording, and 4G support; and those of the pre-paid AT&T Avail handset will include a 3.5-inch touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, and version 2.3 of the Android operating system.
