Leading high street bookseller WH Smith has join forces with Canadian retailer Kobo to the Kobo e-book readers that provide access to more than 2.2 million e-books.
WH Smith will offer two Kobo e-book readers, viz. the Wi-Fi enabled Kobo Wireless eReader and Kobo eReader Touch, which costs £89.99 and £109.99 respectively.
Available in a range of colours including black, blue, silver and lilac, Kobo eReaders feature six-inch e-ink screens and SD card slots that support the addition of up to 32GB of storage.
The pricier version, the Kobo eReader Touch weighs just 185 grams and can run for up to a month on a single charge. It supports a greater variety of digital formats, including digital comic formats CBR and CBZ.
Kobo, which claims to offer a lot more titles than Amazon, is the biggest retailer in Canada and Australia. Kobo has as many as 5 million subscribers around the globe.
The launch of the Kobo e-book readers has been announced as the world's most popular online retailer Amazon is preparing to announce UK availability of its new Kindle Touch.
