Finnish handset maker Nokia has unveiled a NFC-capable Bluetooth headset, called Luna.
The strikingly designed two-piece, monochromatic Luna can be linked with an NFC-capable phone by just tapping the phone on the new headset. If the phone is not NFC-capable one can make the two devices to talk to each other via Bluetooth.
Explaining the device working, Nokia said, "Taking the earpiece out of the base automatically fires up the Bluetooth connection to your phone and answers incoming calls. Putting it back hangs up the call and powers down the Bluetooth connection."
The new device allows users to adjust volume, and pair it up with up to two phones simultaneously. Weighing at just 5 grams, the Luna offers eight hours of talk time, or up to sixty days of standby.
Nokia has plans to release the new Luna headset in the current quarter of this year, with a price tag of around 69 euros.
Separately, Nokia announced the launch of four new mobile phones, viz. the Nokia 700, Nokia 701, Nokia 500, and the Nokia 101, in the Philippines. The Nokia 700 and Nokia 701 runs Nokia's Symbian Belle OS; while the Nokia 500 is an entry-level smartphone and the Nokia 101 is the company's fifth dual SIM smartphone.
