As the breast cancer month is running, it’s the right time to break the old misconceptions and make way for new changes. On the same lines, a poll was conducted by the charity Breast Cancer Campaign which unleashed some of the hard facts of breast cancer.
There is no denial that a lot of myths are floating in society related with breast cancer and that’s what the poll also underlined. Despite 50% of the women over 70 knowing that they are eligible to get a routine NHS breast screening appointment, mere one in seven would appear for the screening test. The height of callousness indicates that why the situation has become so difficult to manage in breast cancer treatment.
Though there are many factors triggering breast cancer, including alcohol, smoking and other lifestyle factors, age has remained a sustainable factor which escalate the possibility of breast cancer.
If reports are to be believed, as many as 12,000 women in Britain die after being diagnosed with breast cancer and many others are being diagnosed for the same. There is no second thought on the severity of the disease, and that’s the reason why breast cancer is being given attention to such a level.
The kind of perception women over 70 are carrying in their minds regarding breast cancer is an alarming signal for many voluntary organizations to ramp up their efforts to raise awareness of breast cancer.
