In contrast to previous studies, a latest research, carried out by Danish researchers, has suggested that mobile phones do not tend to increase the cancer risk. Before suggesting the findings, experts from the Institute of Cancer Epidemiology in Copenhagen analyzed more than 350,000 mobile phone users, aged at least 30. Afterwards, the scientists carried out experiments in order to judge them against non subscribers of mobile phone contracts for brain tumor rates. All the subjects were observed to enroll for these services between 1990 and 2007.
“The extended follow-up allowed us to investigate effects in people who had used mobile phones for 10 years or more, and this long-term use was not associated with higher risks of cancer”, concluded the study authors. In addition, they notified slight increase among heavy cell phone users, probably after huge exposure.
Prior to this, experts have also released an identical small scale report during the last year. The newly suggested report has backed the findings of the previous small study as well as judgments of the Federal Communications Commission and the Food and Drug Administration.
Experts have suggested that mobile users who used the device for at least 13 years or more have reflected identical cancer rates, after analyzing around 10,729 central nervous system tumours reported from 1997 to 2007.
On the other hand, the majority of critics have raised a number of questions in order to remove their doubts. In addition, MobileWise, an advocacy group has claimed that the study has not considered every related sphere of cell phone usage such as their long term exposure. In order to justify the statement the group has referred to reports that brain tumors tends to develop slowly and can be diagnosed after a long time.
