According to reports, the Canterbury District Health Board (CDHB) has recently reversed a proposal related to the work procedures planned in corporation with one hospital laboratory and one community laboratory.

At present, only three community laboratory testing providers are available in the Canterbury region, which include Canterbury Health Laboratories (CHL), Southern Community Laboratories (SCL) and Medlab South.

Meanwhile, previous reports also affirmed that in past few months, the Christchurch laboratory communications suffered important injure, and the brutal earthquake which struck the region on February 22, also added some more problems for the community services officials.

Sharing his views about the raised issue, Canterbury District Health Board Chief Executive, David Meates stated that he was very thankful to all the laboratory service suppliers for their sustained devotion and hard work to guarantee the fact that all the patients were obtaining a first-class care service after the deadly earthquakes wrath.

In the meantime, he continued to share his views and explained that till now, many service providers are contributing to the new and occasionally tricky conditions and about more than 40% of the helpful answers are surely coming from the many renowned laboratory staff members, which was a commendable thing. He further commented that he certainly appreciate the additional effort shown by laboratory staff members as they have positively provided some valuable input into the patient care service modifications.

He added, "A consistent theme in the feedback was the high level of knowledge and skills of the laboratory service staff we have in Canterbury." Moreover, the final approval will be asking the authorities to take some strict action against the favored community laboratory services provider, who made the fake claims about with the DHB's superiority, investments and audit committee risk.

On the other hand, the reported information further accounted that the final verdict about the debate would be taken after all the officials proffers their approval on the statement.
