A great number of people are preparing to participate in the annual Susan G. 3-Day for Cure with a sincere intention to raise awareness about breast cancer.
The event will also help raise funds to help find cure for the deadly disease of breast cancer.
In Arizona, Kisha Hendrix, a patient of breast cancer for the second time, is also going to participate in the big walk. Every participant is required to raise at least 2,300 dollars, and Hendrix is determined to gather more than that.
Speaking about her participation in the event, Hendrix said, “For me, my running, my walking is a physical manifestation of me being able to run away from my cancer for a while.”
There are as many as 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States today.
Last year, more than fifteen people participated in the Susan G. 3-Day for Cure event, and raised 4.4 million dollars. This year’s event is scheduled for 11th to 14th of November.
Susan G. Komen for Cure, which was founded in 1982, has so far invested more than 500 million dollars in breast cancer research.
