Hamilton Doctor Faces Serious Charges over Misdiagnosed Patient

Hamilton Doctor Faces Serious Charges over Misdiagnosed PatientA shocking case of a Hamilton doctor has been getting attention from one and all, as it has been claimed that he couldn't diagnose that his patient was suffering from bowel cancer. The doctor is told to have been facing Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal in Hamilton over serious charges.

This is not for the first time that Dr. Suresh Vatsyayann is facing allegations, as it has been told that the doctor was struck off from the medical register in April after he was accused of tinkering with medical records.

After investigation was started by Health and Disability Commissioner, it was found that the doctor has violated the Code of Patients' Rights, as he failed to identify the exact disease of the woman.

The first hearing was told to have been cancelled for five months after the accused reported health issues. It was further told that before this woman, the doctor had diagnosed a patient with iron-deficiency anaemia and gastritis, though the actual case was tumours found in her large intestine and liver, which is concrete enough to claim that the doctor has gone wrong again.

As the hearing started yesterday, it was found that despite knowing that patient's haemoglobin level drooped from 127 in July, 2007, to 113 three months later, and then to 94 the next month, the doctor could not make right judgment that she much be having some other health issue.

As the patient shared her breathing problem and excruciating pain with the doctor, the woman was shocked that the doctor didn't check her once.

In response to the charges, the doctor refused to admit the allegations, and started boasting about the time he spend on checking patients and his grilling working hours of 100 hours a week. "I certainly never thought it was cancer", he added.
