Ovarian Cancer and Its Symptoms

Ovarian-Cancer-AwarenessIt has been reported that the month of February was the Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and all women have been urged to know about the symptoms of this cancer which has been claiming the life of an Australian woman every eleven hours. Almost all women know about the symptoms of breast cancer but it is quite clear that very few women had any idea at all about the symptoms of ovarian cancer and about the disease in general.

There are four symptoms that are more persistent than others which include abdominal and pelvic pain, fullness of the stomach with eating difficulties, increase in the size of abdomen and also persistent bloating. The frequency of urinating also increases quite significantly.

It is very important for women to know all they can about the disease as it is very critical when survival is considered. It was also reported that there were no ways or tests to detect ovarian cancer in the early stages but acting on the symptoms very early will give a better chance against the disease and one might actually be able to fight it.
