Steer Clear from Alcohol to Avoid Breast Cancer

Steer Clear from Alcohol to Avoid Breast CancerA recent study revealed that the use of even slightest of alcohol over a prolonged period might contribute towards raising the risk of breast cancer in women. The research was of the view that even drinking about 3-4 glasses of wine in a week might result in increasing the risk of breast cancer by 15%.

The study included as many as 105,986 people for a period of 28 years. The researchers were of the view that even though the increase was small, there is need for effective precaution to be taken in this regard. There is need for control to be laid on the consumption of alcohol so that one doesn't put herself to the risk of breast cancer.

It is essential that more and more women are made aware about the disease and the possible ways of prevention of the same. There is need for them to realize the grave consequences of the disease and how they can be prevented with the help of a balanced lifestyle. There is also need for people to realize the importance of early detection of the disease through screenings and self-examination.

It is essential that all steps are taken to prevent the disease because once it sets on; it might tend to have horrible consequences.

It was revealed by Dr. Wendy Chan, from the research team that the risk might be small, but is still not negligible, and one needs to take proper care in this regard.

"Although the exact mechanism for the association between alcohol consumption and breast cancer is not known, one probable explanation would involve alcohol's effects on circulating oestrogen levels", she added further.

Ills like smoking and alcohol consumption should be given up by one and all, for a better life.
