Fishes in Danger

Fishes in DangerIt has been recently revealed that there are plans of an advertisement campaign to be launched for the promotion of seafood, despite the rumors of diseases in fishes. This initiative has been taken by the State Government. They are of the view that this will be a step towards giving a boost to the failing standards of the seafood industry of central Queensland.

Fishermen of the area have been suffering losses in the recent past due to controversy which is of the view that the fish of the area are contaminated, or diseased. People are avoiding eating fish and this is affecting the profit and growth of the fishing industry. It was revealed by Craig Wallace, from State Fisheries that the researchers have found that the fish are not infected and are fit for consumptions.

There is now going to be the launch of an advertisement campaign to make people understand that this was merely a rumor and that fishes are free from any sort of diseases, and can be eaten by them. It was previously said that the metals from Gladstone harbor are the reason for the disease in the fish

"I'm keen to run that as widely as possible, to say to people not only in Queensland, but right across the big markets in Sydney and Melbourne that Gladstone and Queensland seafood is a good product, is a safe product to eat", he said. It is essential to make people aware that these fish are healthy and fit for use.

It was however said by Dr. Andrew Jereminjeno that the need of the hour is to do something for the marine life, rather than simply advertising.
