The efforts of various organizations in dealing with Sexual Transmitted Diseases have proved successful, but there is one disease which still needed to be dealt with as many people are least aware of it. The notorious HPV also know as Human papillomavirus is quite famous of being transmitted to young ladies through unsafe sex. But, do you know oral sex with HPV infected person could trigger thought cancer.
The thought might be horrifying but it is based on science and facts. Earlier, women were supposed to be at threat of being affected with HPV, which also causes cervical cancer. There are two popular strains of HPV which causes cervical cancer they are characterized as HPV-16 and HPV-18.
However, in the past few years, cases of cancer in men arousing from HPV have increased manifold. Researchers of Ohio State's Comprehensive Cancer Research Center have found that since 1980 there has been a 225% of jump in the cases of oral cancer triggering from HPV.
The medical experts are urging couples to get vaccinated against the strains of HPV. It is believed that lack of awareness regarding Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) is causing a hike in the HPV cases.
HPV strains can be naturally cured however it takes body a period of two years to deal with the disease. It is estimated that in the coming ten years, as many as 60,000 Britons would be diagnosed with mouth cancer because of unsafe oral sex.
There are many who are misguided that mouth cancer is caused only by the use of smoke and tobacco. There is need to bring awareness among the young and sexually active group of society so that the strains of HPV could be dealt with timely. It is high time for both men and women to be aware of STD.
