Reason is pretty much clear, which is scarcity of time and pressure of work in office as well as at home. Only 16% of homemaker children face the problem of obesity as they cook healthy and nutritious food for their kids. While 56% of kids of housewives face the problem of being overweight, 28% of the part time working women have obese children.

In order to reach the conclusion, 2,000 children were enrolled from 25 different schools from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Chandigarh.

It was revealed that sue to scarcity of time working women are not able to cook fresh and nutritious food for their kids due to which kids binge on junk food. It was also revealed that in comparison to kids of homemakers, these children find it difficult to play outdoor games. They prefer to play computer games while binging on calorie rich food.

Obesity problem shows its affect at the time when child gets older and starts suffering from major problems like cardio-vascular disease, diabetes and liver associated problems.

Kids of housewives not eat less of junk like pizza, burgers, pasta and aerated drinks, but they also quite active while doing exercise.

Assocham said, "One in five kids in the metropolitan cities is overweight and they are more likely than normal weight children to grow up to be obese adults and suffer from obesity-related conditions including diabetes, cardiovascular disease and fatty liver disease".

Canteens plays a great role in making children obese, so it has been advised that they canteen should start providing healthy food rather than junk. Change in the mindset of working mothers is also needed so that they become able to understand future problems their children would witness.
