It has been revealed in a recent report that there has been the development of a new accelerator cable chip by Intel. This is going to be extremely fast and savvy. It will run at the lightening fast speed that would make it possible to make as many as 1 trillion calculations in a second.
This has been specially designed for the purpose of weather forecasting, car, crash stimulations and molecular modeling. Nvidia and AMD are the rivals against which the new chip has been launched by Intel.
It has been further revealed that the Knights corner chip will act like a co-processor. It is going to be taking over some of the most important and critical works from the CPU of the computer to simplify them and work for the system.
There are more than 50 cores in it, which are individual processors. They are going to work on a single piece of silicon. It was also added that this chip is going to offer "double precision" value of processing. This would mean that it would be able to do multiple functions in the same limited period of time.
It would be able to work or the benefit of many sectors in which it will be used. It's going to come in handy in places where every second counts and where every forecast or every car crash prediction can mean the matter of life and death. It is soon going to be made available for use of customers, and it's sure to work well, for the use of one and all.
"Collecting, analyzing and sharing large amounts of information is critical to today's science activities and requires new levels of processor performance and technologies designed precisely for this purpose", revealed General Manager of Intel, Rajeeb Hazra.
