It has been recently revealed that the new hospital plan by the government has left the doctors feeling `shafted'.
There was a recent meeting conducted in which Rob Dunham, from the Western Local Health District and the doctors discussed the matter. This meeting was conducted in order to give brief talks to the doctors about the new scheme and how it will benefit the hospital as well as the employees. It was revealed by D. Greg Whittaker, that these new plans were similar to the ones made in the past and he fears that it might lead to the loss of authenticity of medical services in the vicinity.
"Birthing, emergency and surgical services are to be provided at both Parkes and Forbes hospitals under the model with one site (Forbes) having a stronger focus on primary health care and the other (Parkes) on acute care", revealed a spokesperson from the NSW.
He further added that though the meeting was promising to hear, the major concerns of the doctors were not fully looked into and this is the reason the team of doctors is confused whether or not to give their support in the matter.
He further revealed that the doctors of the association had put forward their views for the effectively functioning of the new plans, but they have not been heeded to. The formulated plan isn't in the least a part of the suggestions made by our team.
He further added that if this will be the scenario in the time to come as well, it wouldn't be possible for the doctors to give their support to the organization in any important matters.
It's a matter of time to see whether the authorities or the doctors will give up their agenda, and join the stride, and who will take over the planning part in the time to come.
