Internet job advertisements rose by 3.5 percent in January. According to the latest Olivier Job Index, IT job advertisements declined a little in January, down by 0.28 percent and below the national average.
"The signs are clear, new jobs are being advertised. These results suggest employers remained confident, despite widespread fears of another interest rate rise", said Mr. Olivier. 127,823 positions are vacant on commercial job sites on average each week in January surveyed by the Olivier Job Index.
IT job ads were reduced in New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia, 0.44, 4.48 and 8.14 respectively but in Queensland, IT job ads grew 9.91 percent.
Recruitment firm Hudson released its latest ICT salary guide, which demonstrated recovery in the IT jobs. It also mentioned that the companies will reduce their contract positions in favor of permanent staff this year. There is also a rise in the software development and engineering jobs by 3.36 percent.
