Since years, we are learning that breast cancer screening is very essential for women to get early diagnosis of the illness enabling them to start their life-saving treatment. But now, we are being told that a new study has highlighted some different facts for us to understand contrary to the above long term knowing truths.
Researchers have recently marked with the help of a new study that mammogram or screening is useless, especially for women under 50 who are suffering with an average risk of breast cancer. Researchers have added in their statement that screening is a needless procedure in some cases because they do not benefit at all.
The worst case scenario says that some doctors have openly welcomed this new information whereas thankfully some others aren't convinced. This is really concerning because the medical recommendations are leaving no choice for the woman and her doctor, rather these confusing and blatantly wrong guidelines are confusing women to take an appropriate decision for their health.
One can also say that assertive women about their health and the treatment can only now get a mammogram done because it is the priority given to health that can make women more confident about her needs and requirements. On the other hand, women too busy to concern about their own health can suffer the consequences of the misguided guidelines.
Task force’s failure to prioritize health and survival could also give us a negative result in the future. Chances are higher that many more women will become a prey to the deadly breast cancer, just like many of those deaths that could have been prevented but were not.
New guidelines have been issued by the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care and are suggesting women with elevated risk of breast cancer to get screened before the age of 50.
