Penalties being imposed on uninsured motorists by the UK court are not found to be effective enough by the AA Insurance. They say charging a fixed penalty of £200 and imposing six penalty points is not enough to make them realize that they should not repeat this offence.
Uninsured driving is an offence which risks a third person's life. Uninsured drivers do not take it as a lesson and are often found to be repeating this offense. AA Insurance said this kind of relaxation has let down other drivers who make sure they drive carefully so they do not risk third person.
If one calculates the average amount that is being paid by uninsured drivers as a fine in a year then it is around £380 million a year this also includes the cost when they bump into other person's vehicle.
In order to make them learn a lesson, it is very important that strict measures should be taken against them so they do not repeat this offense again. Simon Douglas, who is the Director of AA Insurance, said if the court thinks fine should be imposed on insured motorists then it should be big enough so they think twice before repeating the offence.
Douglas suggested one measure: "I believe uninsured drivers should pay the equivalent of the unpaid insurance premium, which can easily be calculated, in addition to a fine".
Another matter that has been found in regard to insurance is cancellation of insurance claims. It is happening due to the reason that insurance companies are not able track drivers past accident claims and henceforth have been rejecting their insurance claims.
There is possibility that people forgets to register their minor accident detail at when they comes to claim for that accident their appeal gets rejected. Insurance companies check accident details with the Claims and Underwriting Exchange (Cue) and when they do not find any detail about the incident, they simply refuse to provide any help.
