If you are visiting San Francisco’s Burger King thinking that you would get free toy with kids Happy Meal then you might be upset to know that the national fast food eating joint has stopped giving free toys with their kids’ menu.
Rule has gone active from Thursday, which restricts fast food chains to not provide any toy with any of the menu which is meant for kids. This is done to discourage children to consume fast food which does not meet stringent nutritional requirements of health guidelines.
Another regulation is kids menu should have one compulsory serving of fruits and vegetables in order to encourage nutritional diet among kids. There are total 19 Burger King Outlets in San Francisco and one could get toy from there but by paying 10 cents for a toy.
Burger King Spokeswoman Kristen Hauser said they equally care for kids and that is the reason they would comply with the recent regulations of the government.
Burger King is the second outlet after McDonald to take this step, as some time back it also announced that it would not give free toys with their kids menu. From that time onwards, McDonald has been charging money for toy.
They have thought of a noble cause which they would do from this money. McDonald would use it to construct a Ronald McDonald House which would act as a shelter for the families of young patients who have been admitted in the San Francisco Medical Center at Mission Bay.
It is still to be decided that what Burger King would do with the proceeds from the toys. Meanwhile, McDonald has been introducing some quick changes in their menu to make it healthier for kids. They have reduced the amount of French fries and have added fruit and other vegetables to make it a wholesome nutritional food combo for kids.
