Dr. Foster Appreciates North Tees, Hartlepool NHS Trusts The health information group's annual study has appreciated the methods of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust to bring down the mortality rates.

Dr. Foster's report said both the trusts which run University Hospitals in Stockton and Hartlepool have shown great performance and also asked other hospitals to learn from them.

North Tees Hospital made a team of senior doctors and nurses who meet weekly to discuss details about patients' health and to chalk out ways to bring further improvement in their health.

In their entire meetings, they did not forget one thing that quality of care is very important. This led them bring down their mortality rates from 107 in 2009 to 2010 to 95 in 2010 and 2011. This decline has given them a boost to perform even better.

The Director of Operations and Performance at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, Julie Gillon assured that they would continue to work with this vigor and would try and provide high quality care.

Gillon further affirmed, "It will be reassuring for patients to know that our mortality ratios are lower than the national average which means fewer people are dying in our hospitals than the national average".

Not only the mortality rate, but their overall success rate has also improved in hip and knee replacements. The news was also applauded by Simon Pleydell, Chief Executive of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr. Foster Guide is a quite crucial report for hospitals and getting appreciation from them is a big thing, said Pleydell. There is no doubt about the fact that their trust has brought improvements in their overall mortality rates but, the best part is they have shown improvement in stroke care and elective hip and knee replacement surgeries.

Pleydell, the head of James Cook University Hospital, asserted that they would try to bring improvements in their all kind of surgeries.
