Sleeping Less? Blame It on the Genes

Sleeping Less? Blame It on the GenesIt has been recently revealed in a scientific research that how much a person sleeps actually depends on the genes. So the insomniacs now have one more thing to blame upon. They can now blame it on their faulty genes that do not let them sleep as much as they might want to.

This has been revealed according to a survey conducted on more than 10,000 people and the results were of the view that those people who had the ABCC9 gene in them, which is approximately one in every five people, slept more than what is basically needed by the body. They sleep for more than the average eight hours.

Some people can get enough rest in less time while others need to sleep for longer hours to completely rest and rejuvenate their bodies. A study conducted by the team at the Edinburgh University of the view that some people will need to sleep more and some can do with less sleep.

The scientists are of the hope that these new studies will be able to build blocks of finding out further mysteries about gene variation in a person.

So stress and work conditions do make a difference on how long a person sleeps at nights and so does the food and physical strain. But it can now be said that all this doesn't take more accountability of the sleep, than the person's genes.

It is the genes of a person that causes him or her to sleep as much as they do. It is essential that a person however rests his body mind and soul completely; no matter how many hours they sleep pr night.

"You have to understand a problem before you can do something about it. Hopefully more genes will now be discovered and this can also lead to us dealing better with the connected health issues", revealed Dr. Jim Wilson from the Edinburgh University.
