Google’s much hyped Nexus One Smart phone launched in early January in the US had anticipated a stiff challenge to Apple’s iPhone.
The market expectation was based on its own analysis that Nexus One was perhaps the best phone in the market to use the Android technology outranking the iPhone 3GS, Apple’s best iPhone.
But Google managed to sell only 80,000 Nexus One phones in one month despite the hype created.
Sales of Apple’s iPhone or Motorola’s Droid show disappointing figures too. Precisely, Nexus One sold only 13% of the iPhone number and Motorola’s Droid phone, sold 525,000 units in its debut month.
Due to the lack of customer service infrastructure, customers don’t get a reply to complaints sent via email for days. In addition to this, Google‘s claim to sell the Nexus One online, unsatisfactory after sales service and lack of proper advertising have decreased the sale prospects of the product. The search engine should address these problems to multiply sales of Nexus One.
