Google Chrome would now be the only browser on which certain games, like Xbox Live Arcade title Bastion, could be played. This would happen with the use of browser's Native Client (NaCl), Chrome 14.
The application would be the only one which would make possible to run those applications which have been programmed in C and C++. These are some of the hardcore languages and normally, applications are run on JavaScript Web programming language.
It’s not easy to run application on hardcore languages, said Google as it requires Windows or Mac OS X and the same has been used by Google game developers to make it a point that the games designed on hardcore programmes run smoothly on it.
However, Google would not be alone in this task. It has been joined by many other developer partners like Square Enix, Unity Technologies, and Bungie. One of the developing partners said with completion of this task they would bring a revolution in the browser gaming market.
They are also sure that Google would remain the only one to do such a task and nobody else could do it again. Experts said, “Google's Native Client approach is another way of running compiled, platform-specific binary code in a Web browser”.
It seems to be a simple task but in reality, it is not as it’s an amalgamation of some specific hardware and operating systems. With the use of this technology, gaming would become clearer and its graphics would also get highly detailed.
One of the gaming companies, which would be launching its game on Google's Chrome, is Square Enix. They would be launching their action game Mini Ninjas. After Bastion, it would be next sought after game and would be made available by next year.
It would not be the only game, said Square Enix, as more games are lined up but they would be revealed at the appropriate time.
