Since long, scientists from all over the world were focused with paramount gusto on cracking the so-called tough nut of the much-talked-about biological clock. It seems like their patient and unending efforts have finally paid off, and they’ve paid off in style. Latest reports have claimed that scientist have successfully discovered an extremely important, but missing by now, association between the biological clock of the human body and the system controlling the metabolism of sugar in the human body.
About their findings, the scientists have claimed that they can prove extremely helpful in preventing the long-running side effects of medications used for the treatment of various life-threatening diseases like allergies, arthritis and asthma.
The study, which was carried out by researchers from America’s Salk Institute for Biological Studies, discovered proteins that control the biological rhythms of the human body, dubbed cryptochromes, also interrelate with the metabolic controls that are aimed by some definite anti-inflammatory medicines.
The findings, which have been made available in the journal Nature, advocate that serious consequences of drugs being used at present might be warded off well by taking account the biological rhythms of patients at the time of giving them medications.
The researchers were of the view that the cycle of our sleep and wake are fixed to when nutrients are processed by our bodies but until now, there was no clue about how this process takes place at the genetic as well as molecular level.
The study was headed by Prof. Ronald Evans, and it ended up successfully discovering the association between these two high-priority systems of the human body, which can unmistakably prove effective in serving as a model for representing the manner in which other cellular processes are associated with one another. In addition, it holds high expectations for helping in development of for better treatments for various life-threatening diseases.
